About the Program:


Cosmetology / BarberingCosmetology students spend much of their time working with mannequins and customers under the direct supervision of trained and experienced instructors. Facilities provide students with modern, state-of-the-art equipment with some specialized classes and presentations provided by industry specialists. Students have the opportunity to compete in Bridgerland Applied Technology College competitions as well as area student competitions for industry recognition. To succeed in cosmetology, students must know the "why" as well as the "how" of the many services and tasks of the industry.

Employment Outlook:


In recent years there has been increasing interest on the part of the public in the care, health, and attractiveness of hair, skin, and nails. This unprecedented interest has generated the need for additional services in beauty, skin, and nail salons. As the demand for these new services increases, more trained people are needed to fill the numerous professional positions that become available.
