Certificate Description

Incorporating classroom instruction with shop experience while utilizing equipment and/or related training devices, this program is designed for the student who is preparing for a career in general industrial automation.

Needs will be met for skilled mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and refrigeration technicians. The flexibility of this program also allows specialized training for maintenance persons presently employed. The self-paced, individualized training allows the student maximum efficiency for completion.

Elective Specialty Areas: Automated Mfg Robotics, Mechatronics/Electronics, Green Energy, Process and Climate Control, Welding/Machining, and Advanced Composite Fabrication.

Please note: A composite ACT score of 17 or a composite SAT score of 1210 can waive assessment requirements if taken no more than four years prior to enrollment.

Automated Manufacturing Operator is a prerequisite for Controls Engineering Technician.

Employment Outlook

According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the increased use of mechanics and machinery has fueled above average growth that is projected to continue as maintenance workers are in high demand to keep machines in good working order. This program’s job placement is high with excellent earning potential. Jobs are available in a wide range of industries, which makes this field interesting, stable, and rewarding.

When Can I Start?

Bridgerland Technical College is open year round. Most programs are open-entry, which means you can start the program at the first of every month as long as there is space available in the program. Because of demand, some programs have waiting lists to get in to the program. Please contact Student Services for information on those programs with waiting lists and defined starting dates.

Is There Financial Aid?

Bridgerland Technical College participates in a variety of assistance programs that aid students in covering the costs associated with enrollment in full-time certificate programs. The Financial Aid Office provides information for grants, scholarships, and VA education benefits. Bridgerland Technical College does not participate in or endorse any loan program. Most programs take about one year to complete. Each individual program page has tuition and fee amounts listed. Students can be setup on a payment plan and make payments each month (due on the 1st).
